Spring Smoothies

Now that it's warmer out, we all just want to get outside and stretch our legs! To go along with those walks and workouts, how about trying some new smoothie recipes? Smoothies are a great way to pack a lot of vitamins and nutrients into a quick, on-the-go treat. Try bananas, berries, apples, pears, oats, flax seed, cucumber, almond milk, even spinach! Smoothies are easy to personalize, so experiment and have fun! Check out the recipes below, along with the books in our collection that will give you even more ideas! Spring Green Smoothie
2 or 3 handfuls of spinach (rinsed)
1 bunch fresh parsley (rinsed)
1/2 cup chopped pear
1/2 cup chopped apple
1/4 cup oats
1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
1/2 cup water or milk of choice (more if needed)
*Add all ingredients to a blender, and blend until smooth. Add more liquid if too thick. Enjoy!



Berry Good Smoothie
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 cup oats
1 Tablespoon ground flax seed
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
1/2 cup water or milk of choice (more if needed)
*Add all ingredients to a blender, and blend until smooth. Add more liquid if too thick. Enjoy!
