Thrill the World

Learn Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance at the library and dress up as a zombie to break a world record! The Brownsburg Public Library will host our first annual “Thrill the World” event this Saturday, October 29th. This is a family-friendly event open to all ages. Events all over the world will be taking place at the exact same time (10 p.m. in our time zone) to simultaneously perform this famous dance, an icon of pop culture! You can attend our last “learn the dance” workshop tomorrow, Wednesday, October 26 from 6-8 p.m. There will be areas set up for complete beginners as well as those who already know the moves and just want more practice. On Saturday, October 29th doors will open at 7 p.m. for another dance practice session and makeup/costume help (we will have some makeup, but you will need to bring your own costume. We can help with rips and fake blood on costumes!) Anyone wanting to dance for the world record should plan to be here by 9 p.m. with a photo ID, or a parent/guardian with a photo ID for minors.

A donation jar will be available to help the library cover the $20 event registration fee. Any profits made over this amount will be donated to the Friends of the Brownsburg Library, which supports library programming for all ages.

To learn or practice the dance at home, visit http://www.youtube.com/user/INESSENS#p/c/3FF08D2BE42682AC/39/RuHFna5mcpo for the first clip in the video how-to.
