It's National Library Week

April 8-14 is National Library Week, a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA). And did you know that the entire month of April is School Library Month? This is a time to celebrate and recognize all that your libraries and librarians do for you, and to promote their use to others! Public, school, academic, and special libraries are all included in National Library Week.

Featured dates this week include:
Tuesday, April 10th -  National Library Workers Day
Wednesday, April 11th - National Bookmobile Day
Thursday, April 12th - Support Teen Literature Day

If you are a library fan, go to atyourlibrary.org to find out what resources are available to you during this time. In the meantime, write your local representatives to tell them how much your local library or librarian means to you. Go here to write an e-mail or send a letter. Include a personal story about how libraries have touched you, or how you have seen them make a difference in other people's lives. Now more than ever, in these tough times, libraries are being utilized by so many. Show how vital they are to your community by writing your local representatives...and spread the word to your friends, family, and neighbors! We thank you for your continued support!
